The Deck Project

A few years ago I was asked to repair an existing deck for a dear friend who lives out of state.  Following are some before, during and after shots of the repairs.  I hope you enjoy the photos and like the finished product.

You'll notice in the above photo the original deck had the deck boards
going in two different directions

Note the top step does not come up to the level of the deck.

The other set of steps original to the deck.

I didn't like the way this corner looked out of place.

Below are a few shots from the parking area before I got
started on the project

Below, we start tearing out the old boards.

As you can see by the bucket we had some rain overnight.

Now we have an almost clean slate with which to work
on the face lift

The last of the remaining original joists

Out with the old and in with the new.

Heading down the home stretch.

Note in the corner the two sets of steps now come up level with the
deck, making it appear much larger

Added some much needed railings making use of left over materials.

Smokey says we did a good job, and that's good enough for me.
