Outdoor Furniture

Some of my creations start out as a blank sheet of paper or empty Sketch-Up file while others are derived from bits and pieces of a piece given to me or found along the streets.  Still others come from books and plans as a initial step but I almost always "tweak" them to my taste.  I won't say I take others' plans and ideas and make them better, just better suited to my tastes and/ or needs at the time.

As I add photos here you'll see some from all those categories.  The large Adirondack chairs for instance came from a book and I liked the overall design, but I made a few alterations to the size and shape of some of the parts.  On the other hand, the child size chairs were designed from an antique given to me that didn't even survive the 15 mile drive home.  Much of the wood was missing, but there was enough left to get a fairly good idea of how it originally looked.

The side table for the Adirondack chairs started out as an idea in my head based on the shape and lines of the chair parts.

Below are a series of photos showing the design and progress of the side table being built to go with the Adirondack chairs at the top of the page.  These particular pieces were constructed of solid cedar.

Now tell me that doesn't look comfortable.
I have 2 more of these chairs at present in my shop ready for sale.  At $165/ chair, you can't go wrong.
